Si sposò giovanissima. A soli 18 anni rimase vedova e smise di essere moglie riservandosi i ruoli di figlia e di madre.

She got married at a very young age and was only 18 when she was widowed. Then she stopped being a wife and devoted herself to the roles of daughter and mother.

Nonostante le umili origini si atteggiava a donna benestante. Rosa dall'invidia per le ricchezze altrui, si metteva sempre in competizione per mostrarsi ad ogni costo la più raffinata ed elegante.

In spite of her humble origins, she posed as a well-to-do lady. Consumed with envy of other people’s wealth, she was always in competition to show off at all costs as the most refined and elegant one.

Visse sempre e solo a contatto con la natura, in mezzo alle pecore e sotto le stelle. 
Forse non conobbe mai l’amore, e forse, non essendosi mai specchiata, 
non vide mai il suo  viso. 

She always and exclusively lived in contact with nature, among sheep and under the stars. She probably never knew love and possibly, not knowing what a mirror is, she never saw her own face.

La sua indole dispotica, litigiosa e polemica celava in realtà un estremo bisogno d’amore. 
Paradossalmente fu proprio la sua invidia per la gioia altrui a tenere uniti a sè i propri figli. 

Her despotic, quarrelsome and polemical character in fact hid an extreme need for love. Ironically enough, it was precisely her envy of other people’s happiness what kept her children together with her.

Donna radiosa, felicemente sottomessa al marito, dedicò tutta la vita all’amore della  sua famiglia. Nipoti e pronipoti perpetueranno il ricordo della sua pace interiore. 

A radiant woman, happily subjugated to her husband, she devoted her whole life to the love for her family. Her grandchildren and grand-grandchildren will perpetuate the memory of her inner peace.

Nel corso della Prima guerra mondiale subì un matrimonio combinato, poi si innamorò di un'altro uomo. Creando  uno scandalo senza precedenti lasciò il marito, "disonorando" la famiglia. Ripudiata dal padre, fu da lui considerata come morta. 

During the first world war she got wed by arranged marriage, then she fell for another man. Giving rise to unprecedented scandal, she left her husband, bringing “dishonour” on her family. She was then disowned by her father, who considered her as dead ever since.
